Florida Youth Hunting Opportunities

Supervised Youth Quota Permit Deer Hunts

  • Locations: Camp Blanding WMA and Andrews WMA.
  • Eligibility: Youths (15 and under) with permits and their nonhunting adult supervisors.

Youth Deer Hunting Weekend

  • Age Requirement: Youth 15 years old and younger.
  • Timing: Coincides with each zone’s muzzleloading gun season.
  • Areas: Lands outside the WMA system.

Youth Waterfowl Days

  • Dates: November 11 and February 10.
  • Age Requirement: Hunters 15 years old and under, accompanied by an adult supervisor.
  • Locations: Ocklawaha Prairie, Guana River, stormwater treatment areas, A-1 FEB Impoundment, T.M. Goodwin, and Broadmoor Marsh Unit.

Youth Small-Game Hunts

  • Locations: Caravelle Ranch, Ross Prairie, and Jennings Forest WMAs.
  • Quota Permits: Not required for these specific hunts.

Family Quota Permit Hunts

  • Offered: On various WMAs.
  • Format: Permitted adult can hunt with up to two youths.

Youth Spring Turkey Hunts

  • Timing: Weekend before the start of the spring turkey season.
  • Eligibility: Youth 15 years old and under can harvest wild turkey, with adult supervision.
