Year-Round Open Season

  • American Eel: Minimum size of 9 inches with a daily limit of 25.
  • American Shad: No minimum size, daily limit of 3.
  • Baitfish and Fish Bait: No minimum size, daily limit of 50 in aggregate.
  • Crayfish: No minimum size, daily limit of 50. Heads must be removed immediately behind the eyes upon capture unless used as bait in the water they were taken from.
  • Gizzard Shad: No minimum size, daily limit of 50.
  • Mud Bugs (Dragonfly Nymphs): No minimum size, no creel limit.
  • Muskellunge and Tiger Muskie: Minimum size of 40 inches, daily limit of 1 in aggregate. Cannot be used as bait.

Trout and Salmon (All Species)

  • April 13–September 2 (Starting at 8 a.m.): Minimum size of 7 inches, daily limit of 5 in aggregate. Catch and Release outside these dates.
  • January 1–February 29 & September 3–December 31: Daily limit of 3 in aggregate. Brown and Brook Trout cannot be used as bait.

Sauger

  • January 1–March 14 & May 4–December 31: Minimum size of 12 inches, daily limit of 6.

Striped Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass

  • Open Year Round: Minimum size of 20 inches, daily limit of 2 in aggregate. Cannot be used as bait.

Walleye and Hybrids
